The Hotel Atlante Star was just what we were looking
for - very smart hotel, right in the centre and the view was absolutely to
die for. First of all, we got a good deal. Second of all, this hotel is beautiful
and luxurious. Third of all, we thought we had a good deal until we got up
to the room and saw the Vatican, lit up in its evening glory, from our room.
Utterly amazing. The restaurant is actually on the roof and overlooks the
whole city, apparently it's famous and the view here is regularly sought after
by film companies and if this is true you can see why. This must be one of
the most unique spots in the whole city. As for the location of the hotel,
it was very central. Just a few seconds from St Peter's and the Vatican and
about a 10 minute walk to the river, across which is the rest of the historical
centre. It's not so good for public transport and taxis are very expensive
in Rome but to be honest, we were more than ready to push the boat out. This
holiday was unforgettable.

We had some reservations about booking hotels in the capital of Italy but this one seemed to be a good one, based upon the quality of their website - surprisingly rare among Italian hotels! We weren't disappointed anyway. The breakfast was really good - I didn't even miss my proper cooked breakfasts! The views were truly stunning - which no doubt contributed to the high prices of the restaurant - and the room was very clean and very beautiful. A little 'cosy', but ultimately a great all round experience. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone with a little money to spend because Rome is truly an amazing city that steals your heart and it deserves making the most of it. This hotel's location is as good as any in the city.
